Jhony Alexandre Gomes, 22-year-old young man, born in Honório Gurgel and raised at Complexos de Favelas do Chapadão in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, before he answered to Explícito and now he answers to name of JOTA.
JOTA is in touch with the layers and complexities of the world. However, this universe of people, sceneries, places, violence and sacredness has a starting point: the city of Rio de Janeiro and its communities. As an attentive chronicler to the reality around him, JOTA has been processing and reinterpreting through his paintings the hectic changes his personal and professional lives have been through.
