Spencer Tunick American, b. 1967

Nato nel 1967 a Middletown (USA). Dopo aver ottenuto il Bachelor of Arts nel 1988, Tunick ha iniziato a fotografare persone nude per le strade di New York nel 1992. È conosciuto principalmente per i suoi scatti che ritraggono persone nude in contesti urbani, anche se si possono trovare casi di nudità individuale o di piccoli gruppi inseriti in situazioni insolite. Come parte del suo progetto chiamato Naked States, Tunick ha realizzato fotografie anche in altri luoghi degli Stati Uniti, così come a Londra, Lione, Melbourne, Montréal, Caracas, Santiago, San Paolo, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Newcastle, Roma e Vienna. Il lavoro di Tunick ha spesso suscitato discussioni e interrogativi a causa della natura delle sue opere, che molti considerano una semplice "manifestazione sociale" a sostegno della libertà di espressione. Born in 1967 in Middletown (USA). After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988, Tunick started photographing naked people on the streets of New York in 1992. He is best known for his shots of naked people in urban contexts, although cases of individual nudity or small groups in unusual situations can be found. As part of his project called Naked States, Tunick has also taken photographs in other locations in the United States, as well as in London, Lyon, Melbourne, Montréal, Caracas, Santiago, São Paulo, Buenos Aires, Sydney, Newcastle, Rome and Vienna. Tunick's work has often provoked discussion and questioning due to the nature of his work, which many consider a simple 'social manifestation' in support of freedom of expression. His images evoke tension and reflection on the concepts of public and private, individual and collective.
